Rehearsals were done at Sarah Lawrence College. The show In Praise of Falling previewed at Westbeth in New York. June Ekman directed the piece and did the choreography along with the company and with Shirley. Since the Paper Bag Players Remy Charlip remained an important artistic colleague and friend, and his passion for interdisciplinary work stays in Shirley’s heart and in her work. Shirley Clarke saw a rehearsal and helped us begin to show the work.
